We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Telesales Representative to join a business with a first rate reputation in their sector. As a purveyor and distributor of fine food from around the world - they source the highest quality products they can find, from truffles to caviar, foie gras to chocolate, and much, much more. Through close partnerships with their trusted suppliers, they deliver the highest quality fresh and frozen food products to the finest restaurants, hotels and retailers in London and across the UK.

Reporting into the Customer Service Manager the successful candidate will be joining a Telesales team that strives for excellence in their customer interaction – working hard to understand their needs and exceed their expectations.

The Role:

As a Telesales Officer you will work with the existing client base of high quality chefs and restauranteurs – acting as their sales support to ensure that they are delivered the highest quality produce (and wonderful service!)

  • Answering customer’s incoming calls, responding to their queries and placing orders in a professional and timely manner – with excellent accuracy. (Note: In addition to processing telephone orders you will also handling orders arriving via fax and email)
  • Proactively contacting existing customers to present products and services – to grow sales within your portfolio
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution
  • Create an engagement with our customers, forging positive relationships and have confidence representing the company
  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents including returns, collections and transportation arrangements
  • Maintaining up to date product knowledge. Able to advise alternative products, provide in-depth product information and up-selling
  • Managing the order processing system – up-to-date information changes
  • Always ready to go the extra mile for our customers

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a sales focused role, preferably in Telesales – at least 2 years
  • Experience of sales figures / GP / percentage calculations and price negotiation
  • Ability and willingness to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to customer
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Outstanding customer focus, putting them at the heart of everything you do
  • Articulate and highly communicative
  • Cool tempered, patient and able to handle rejection
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to multitask and work under time pressure
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures
  • Excellent standard of English, spoken and written
  • Keen eye for detail
  • An interest in food and the hospitality industry
  • Language skills – particularly French – would be an advantage (but not essential).
