Our client is a leading Meat business based on the outskirts of Manchester are looking to recruit a Technical Manager. Reporting into the Group Technical Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the technical service and ensure that products are manufactured according to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the quality system is maintained to BRC standards and that the quality system is regularly reviewed.
  • Manage the internal audit systems.
  • To ensure that the quality system is maintained and reviewed.  To cover specifications, manufacturing instructions and HACCP.
  • Dealing with customer audits and ensuring that the Company is approved. 
  • Organising site HACCP team meetings according to documented timescales. 
  • Attend quality meetings to monitor and review performance 
  • Carry out training of staff in Basic Food Hygiene and quality modules.
  • Keep up to date with any technical issues or advances which may affect the Company and take action as appropriate.
  • Assisting in the transfer of any new lines from concept to production.
  • Provide technical support to all employees, management and directors.

Key Competencies

  • Experience in a QA/TM role within the food industry. (Ideally Meat)
  • Knowledge and experience of Quality Systems, BRC, HACCP and micro biological specifications are essential.
  • Ideally degree qualified in food Technology
  • Knowledge and experience of organoleptic techniques and assessments of raw materials.
  • Enthusiastic, with a positive outlook.
  • Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel within the UK.

    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
