We are currently looking for a talented Maintenance Engineer (with a Mechanical Bias) to join the established team at a leading food manufacturer based near Bishops Stortford.

 

Working on a shift, as part of a small team of engineers, you will support in the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of site assets. There will be a strong focus on driving site engineering efficiencies, minimizing equipment downtime and working to enhance the plant through continuous improvement.

 

The Role

 

  • Working to maximise, and enhance, the uptime of production machinery - ensuring standards are maintained and improved in accordance with expectations
  • Sharing responsibility for proactively engaging with production teams, and other engineers, to assist in supporting the agreed production plan
  • Conducting Reactive Repairs and maintenance to production machinery
  • Carrying out PPM’s
  • Ensuring that the site remains focused on the Health and Safety agenda

 

This is predominantly a Monday – Friday, double days (0600-1400, 1430-1900), working 2 Saturdays in 6 (on call 2 weekends in 6).

 

The Individual

 

Qualifications

  • Recognised Apprenticeship with Mechanical qualifications
  • City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) qualifications

 

Preferred Experience

  • Prior work experience in Food Manufacturing, FMCG or similar environment and a passion for said
  • Evidence of safe working practices and a personal commitment to Health and Safety
  • Evidence of interpreting / recognising / meeting performance standards
  • Previous track record of delivering CI Improvements
  • Evidence of identifying and improving machine performance issues on a day to day basis
