Manufacturing Manager - West Midlands

I am looking for a strong entry level Manufacturing Manager to work in a small local bakery that produces topping for desserts. It is a well-known bakery that has large growth plans over the next few years with a site relocation, BRC accreditation and a new product line. Currently supplying to Wimbledon and some of the world’s biggest retailers they are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to work directly with the GM to increase productivity and keep the bakery on track as it grows. I am seeking a focused and dynamic individual, who has experience in production and management gained within a bakery.

This role is suitable for someone with previous management experience within a retail or food manufacturing environment and who has strong management skills. Being a small friendly business, the role is supported by the owner, Managing director and the general manager as well as a close team.

The successful candidate will have a range of the following:

• Bakery manufacturing and production experience
• Positive attitude towards colleagues and the work, having the ability to serve as a role model and motivate staff
• Strong communication skills to relate with people on all levels
• Leadership qualities with career ambition
• Hands on approach to working with the bakery team
• Proven people management skills and experience, being able to motivate and influence the team
• A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

As a key person in the management team you will be looking after the production and packaging teams working 121 and coaching during the day. The business heavily invests in the career aspects of their team, recently developing in house and externally. The core of the business is built with foundations of trust and reputation therefore everything is hand made to the highest possible quality. The bakery team complete consists of under 50 staff members therefore you will be overseeing the whole of the bakery including output of products.

The Bakery has put in place a 5 year growth plan which would mean a new site, new customers and also a new product line so you would be joining a great company at a exciting time.

The correct person for the role will be able to lead while keeping their team happy. Be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate the team and introduce change where needed. Be create and strategic while having excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
