Ingredients Buyer - Swansea

Our client, a renowned multi-site food manufacturer with production facilities across the UK, have an exciting opportunity for a highly driven Ingredients Buyer to join their purchasing division. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and working closely with the Group Purchasing Team, you will help drive forward purchasing within your category.

Key responsibilities;

  • Manage and maintain a rationalised and controlled supplier base
  • Ensure that ingredient supply chains are mapped and risk assessed from a food safety, authenticity and ethical sourcing perspective
  • Work closely with the NPD teams to build strong working relationships with them and customers
  • To understand customer brand values to ensure that the right raw materials are sourced
  • To drive the raw material innovation programme at a site level through structured sessions and proactive investigation

What we’re looking for;

  • 2/3 years’ procurement experience within the food industry with Global or European sourcing experience
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to build effective relationships at all levels
  • Good customer facing skills with a strong commercial awareness
  • Must have full, valid driving license
