Here at Elevate RTC, we are currently recruiting on behalf of a fresh produce food manufacturing business, which is looking for an excellent High Care Technical Manager to help lead the South East team. This is an interim role initially for 6 months while the company start up a new manufacturing site although for the correct manager it may become a permanent position if interested. They are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
They are an energetic business; the role will be an integral part of the technical team managing a key product line within the fruit sector & a portfolio of locally based suppliers. Working with ambient food products, this role will take responsibility for the technical management of a retail account on a daily basis, being involved with retail specifications, new product development, factory audits, and customer visits. With a passion for food, the successful individual will be part of a hard-working, dedicated, and flexible team who strive for success.
With a strong background in technical management within the Food sector, previous customer & supplier facing contact is essential, having covered supplier audits internationally with a high level of confidence, and the ability to effectively build customer relationships being key.
Experience/Skills required
*Must have previous experience working with fruit, vegetables or salads in a high care environment
*Have knowledge of the BRC packaging and/or food standard
*Have knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and the QMS
*Preferably have experience working with lab samples and good working knowledge of of the NPD category
*Have quality assurance experience within a Food manufacturing or Food packaging business
*Be driven to start up a new site and quickly expand the business
*Have a good understanding of modern lean manufacture techniques, problem solving etc.
*Have the ability to deal with colleagues at all levels
*Must have a previous understanding of supermarket audits and platforms
*Be able to coach, train and lead
